About Us Hi, we are Don and Wenda Kidde and we've recently started this website to provide something like a 'feel good factor' in these times of economic gloom and cuts. We firmly subscribe to the slogan "Recession? What recession?" because we know that whatever the forthcoming cuts have in store, we are going to find ways of maintaining and improving the lifestyle that we've created for ourselves and our family through previous good and bad times. Consequently, we have spent time researching suppliers of the type of products that we and our friends and wider family not only enjoy but also regard as an essential part of our lifestyles. The guiding principles of our research have been impeccable quality at realistic prices. In a way, although we concentrate on things that could be considered to be 'luxuries', we very firmly believe that not only do luxuries help the world go round in a number of different ways but also that they are an essential part of the mindset of people who are not content to sit back and wait for the world to obligingly knock at their door. To have a lifestyle that features 'rewards' in the form of being able to pursue things that you enjoy and that are stimulating physically and intellectually is a considerable motivating force for the good of both individuals and society. Such a lifestyle drives personal initiative and stimulates achievement - without either of these, we believe that society would stagnate especially in the climate in which we now find ourselves. In the words of perhaps the greatest Statesman of the 20th century, Franklin D Roosevelt : "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" Sorry, may be getting a bit heavy but hopefully you can relate to our optimism and possibly even feel inspired? Because we are genuinely enthusiastic about our subject, we don't just intend this website to be a sort of an online Department Store. We plan to present articles and news items on a wide variety of subjects where we feel that we can make an informed contribution - in particular the visual and performing arts, restaurants and fine dining, travel and places of interest both home and abroad plus even some humourous items! But don't worry, you won't have to put up with our style of prose all the time as we will be inviting friends and colleagues to contribute their own individual views on topics relevant to our lifestyle theme - and we won't even charge them for the privilege!
